PAK Refines Its Strategic Roadmap for 2026

Two days of strategic reflection to align the Port’s 2026 vision with national development priorities.

In its commitment to strategic excellence and sustainable growth, the Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) held its 2026 Strategic Planning Retreat in Kribi. Over two days, teams refined the Port’s roadmap around five key priorities to strengthen performance, connectivity, and industrial competitiveness.

From September 8 to 9, the Lagon Hotel in Kribi hosted the Port Authority of Kribi’s (PAK) strategic retreat. Two days of collective reflection were dedicated to designing a fully budgeted activity program for the 2026 financial year.

The event brought together all PAK structures for one purpose: to prepare the 2026 Action Plan. “We are gathered here to jointly launch the process of developing PAK’s 2026 Activity and Budget Program,” stated Director General Patrice MELOM, emphasizing the importance of a collaborative and forward-looking approach to budgetary planning.

This initiative comes at a time when ports—especially Kribi—are expected to play a pivotal role in economic growth and regional integration. The Division of Planning and Management Control (DPCG) stressed the need to align PAK’s strategy with national development policies, aiming to boost industrial transformation and improve living conditions.

Operationally, the Port’s traffic remains strong, with steady vessel calls and a significant peak between May and August. The DPCG also highlighted notable progress in executing the 2025 Action Plan.

However, challenges persist—chief among them, energy supply and infrastructure development. Expanding electricity production and improving transport connectivity (Edéa-Kribi road and rail projects) are vital to sustaining industrial activity.

The retreat identified five strategic priorities: enhancing operational performance, strengthening industrial zone attractiveness, improving port accessibility and connectivity, fostering social acceptance, and accelerating digital transformation.

By capitalizing on the achievements of 2025, the Port Authority of Kribi is poised to enter 2026 with renewed clarity, efficiency, and ambition.
