The Port Authority of Kribi Accelerates its Digital Transformation with PostgreSQL
A Specialised training in Spain marking a decisive step in modernising and upskilling PAK teams
From 18 to 22 August 2025, the Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) took part in an intensive training program on PostgreSQL database administration and management in Valencia, Spain. This key step supports the migration of the port’s systems from Oracle to PostgreSQL and strengthens the teams’ skills for autonomous and efficient management of the digital infrastructure.
Specialized Training at the Heart of Port Digitalization
During their stay in Valencia, the PAK technical and IT representatives underwent intensive PostgreSQL administration and management training delivered by Arumel, Prodevelop’s technical training partner. The aim was to equip PAK teams with the skills needed to independently manage the new digital environments.
From Oracle to PostgreSQL: A Strategic Choice
The ongoing migration to PostgreSQL is part of a broader strategy to modernise and optimise the port’s digital infrastructure. As an open-source database management system, PostgreSQL offers numerous advantages:
Flexibility ;
Enhanced security ;
Cost reduction ;
Sustainable scalability ;
However, its adoption requires upskilling to ensure optimal use geared toward the port’s digitalisation.
Strengthening International Collaboration
Beyond the training, this mission accelerated coordination on ongoing projects and identified new avenues for future collaboration. Face-to-face discussions enabled the participants to address technical issues, harmonise practices and strengthen the relationship between Prodevelop and the Port Authority of Kribi.
This initiative highlights PAK’s commitment to digital transformation, team development, and international cooperation in building a modern and resilient port infrastructure.
