Strengthening cooperation in training, research, and future maritime professions

The Port Authority of Kribi and the National Advanced School of Maritime and Oceanic Sciences and Technologies today signed a partnership agreement dedicated to training, research, and skills development in the maritime and port sectors.

The Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) and the National Advanced School of Maritime and Oceanic Sciences and Technologies (ENSTMO) today signed a specific partnership agreement at the PAK “Emergence” Head Office Building, dedicated to training, research, and skills development in the maritime and port sectors.

The agreement was signed by the General Manager of PAK, Patrice Melom, and Professor Achille Pandong, in the presence of Professor Mbassi Ateba, representative of the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ebolowa, along with administrative and technical officials from both institutions.

This collaboration follows the framework agreement signed with the University of Ebolowa on November 18, 2024. It aims to strengthen the professionalization of academic programs, facilitate the integration of young graduates into the workforce, expand internship opportunities, and promote the exchange of expertise between academia and the port industry.

The General Manager of PAK welcomed a partnership already producing tangible results through the reception of interns and the involvement of Port experts in specialized teaching programs. He also highlighted the project to build a laboratory within the Kribi port facilities in order to support practical training and applied research related to maritime and port challenges.

Through this agreement signed today, PAK and ENSTMO reaffirm their shared ambition to train skilled young professionals connected to operational realities and prepared for the maritime professions of tomorrow.
