The first cohort of the UNCTAD Train For Trade port management training programme has officially received their certificates, marking a significant step forward in building capacity across Cameroon’s maritime sector. The ceremony took place on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at the Port Authority of Kribi, in the presence of the Director General, whose address reaffirmed the PAK’s commitment to positioning training as a strategic lever for port competitiveness and innovation.
Alongside him were representatives from the National Port Authority and the Cameroon Shippers’ Council, who joined in honouring the graduates. Dominique Chantrel, a key figure of the Train For Trade programme, and Mr. Simo Tagne, Chairman of the Pedagogical Committee, also delivered insightful remarks, highlighting the importance of this first cohort for the national port ecosystem.
The president of the cohort also addressed the audience, expressing heartfelt gratitude for the quality of the programme, the dedication of the trainers, and the strong sense of solidarity among participants. Her message — filled with appreciation, determination and foresight — called on her peers to embody, on the ground, the excellence now required by the global port logistics chain.
The highlight of the ceremony was the official presentation of certificates to the 24 graduates. The parchments were handed over by instructors from Togo, Senegal, Gabon, and Côte d’Ivoire, to warm applause from the audience.
