Official Signing of the Kribi Container Terminal Concession Agreement
A Strategic Partnership to Boost Cameroon’s Maritime Competitiveness
On July 25, 2017, the Autonomous Port of Kribi (PAK) hosted the official signing ceremony of the concession agreement for the new Kribi Container Terminal, chaired by the Minister of Transport, Mr. Edgar Alain Mébé Ngo’o.
Following an international call for tenders, the management and operation of the terminal were entrusted to a consortium composed of CMA CGM, Bolloré Transport & Logistics, and CHEC, under a 25-year Public-Private Partnership with the State of Cameroon.
Equipped with a 350-meter quay and a 16-meter draught, the terminal can accommodate vessels of up to 8,000 TEUs. In its second phase, Kribi Container Terminal will handle 11,000 TEU vessels, featuring a 715-meter quay and an annual capacity of 1.3 million TEUs.
Strategically located in the Gulf of Guinea, the Port of Kribi stands as a modern logistics hub designed to serve Cameroon and its landlocked neighbors. This flagship project marks a major step toward strengthening Cameroon’s trade competitiveness and positioning Kribi as a leading deep-sea port in Central and West Africa.
