Protecting Biodiversity: The Port Authority of Kribi Supports Turtle Conservation in Ebodje
An CSR initiative to preserve endangered marine species
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy, the Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) has renewed its commitment to environmental protection by supporting the release of sea turtles at the Ebodje nesting site, a coastal village renowned for its ecological richness.
A Commitment to the Environment
Through this initiative, PAK reaffirms its role as an active player in biodiversity conservation, working in partnership with local NGOs and riparian communities. The goal is to contribute to the protection of sea turtles, emblematic species threatened with extinction.
Safeguarding Vulnerable Species
Among the species concerned are the leatherback turtle and the green turtle, which regularly come to nest on Ebodje’s beaches. However, these turtles face multiple threats, including poaching, marine pollution, coastal erosion, and artificial light disturbances.
A Lasting Impact
By supporting such initiatives, the Port Authority of Kribi strengthens its commitment to combining port development with environmental protection, while enhancing the natural heritage of the region for the benefit of future generations.
