Kribi Port is currently hosting a major logistical operation—Operation KARAVEG—at its Multipurpose Terminal. Leveraging the calm and protected waters provided by the southern breakwater, along with the precision and skill of the pilot station, the port is demonstrating its full capabilities in handling complex maritime operations.
The operation involves the careful loading of two Single Point Mooring (SPM) Buoys from PERENCO’s offshore oil terminals—MASSANGO and EBOME—onto the semi-submersible barge ‘KARAVEG’, which is securely moored stern-to-quay. This specialized maneuver underscores Kribi Port’s strategic role in supporting Cameroon’s offshore oil logistics and showcases its growing reputation as a regional hub for heavy-lift and offshore support services.
