World Environment Day (52nd) 2024

World Environment Day

PAK kicks off the 'One Employee, One Tree' campaign.

On June 5, 2024, the Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) joined the global community in celebrating the 52nd edition of World Environment Day, under the theme:
“Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience.”

A concrete action driven by the Environment Directorate

To launch this initiative, Technical Advisor No. 2, Mr. Benjamin BISSAI, acting on behalf of the Director General, planted the first symbolic tree within the Kribi Industrial-Port Zone in Mboro.

The activity, organized by the Environment and Land Development Directorate (DAME), brought together senior PAK managers (DEX, DSR, CCRP, DAME), along with over 30 staff members.
A total of 20 trees—including Royal Palm and Lagerstroemia—were planted as part of this collective green gesture.

A lasting and monitored initiative

To ensure sustainable impact, PAK partnered with ANAFOR (National Forestry Development Support Agency), which will oversee the long-term growth and maintenance of the planted trees.
This event marks the beginning of a broader annual reforestation program, reinforcing PAK’s commitment to environmental protection and climate resilience.
