From 21 to 25 May 2024, the Port Authority of Kribi took part in the 8th edition of VivaTech in Paris, alongside Business France Cameroon–Congo–Gabon and several Cameroonian companies, with a focus on innovation, digital transformation, and international partnerships.

The 8th edition of VivaTech, one of the world’s leading events dedicated to technological innovation, was held in Paris from 21 to 25 May 2024. On this occasion, Business France Cameroon – Congo – Gabon led a delegation of Cameroonian companies to explore opportunities within the French and international technology ecosystem.

The Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) was among the institutional partners supporting this initiative, reaffirming its interest in key areas such as digital transformation, digital infrastructure, data centers, fintech, and innovative solutions aimed at modernizing port and logistics operations.

Throughout the event, participants engaged in numerous B2B meetings, fostering the emergence of concrete collaboration opportunities between African stakeholders and French technology providers. These exchanges helped identify innovative solutions applicable to African contexts, particularly in the digitalization of services, operational efficiency, and competitiveness.

VivaTech 2024 also stood out for the richness of its content, showcasing cutting-edge solutions and major advances in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, biotechnology, and emerging technologies, presented by both startups and global technology leaders.

Beyond innovation, the event highlighted the growing—though still developing—presence of African actors within the global tech ecosystem. African talents, entrepreneurs, and institutions demonstrated their capacity to actively contribute to shaping the future of technology.

The participation of the Port Authority of Kribi, alongside partners such as ST DIGITAL and Deloitte Cameroon, formed part of the “Export Begins in France” program led by Business France. This initiative aims to connect international organizations with French expertise in order to build strong, long-term partnerships.

Through its presence at VivaTech 2024, the Port Authority of Kribi reaffirms its commitment to embracing technological innovation, strengthening its digital capabilities, and positioning itself at the forefront of the transformation shaping the future of ports and logistics platforms in Africa.
