The closing ceremony of the 4th Tripartite Forum CAR–Chad–Cameroon was held in Kribi this Thursday, January 11, 2024, after three intensive days of discussions on measures to ease and facilitate the transit of goods through the ports of Kribi and Douala.
Participants acknowledged that some of the recommendations from the 3rd forum have been partially implemented, marking progress toward more efficient collaboration. However, key issues such as the persistent barriers to free movement along the trade corridors remain a central challenge.

As President of Port-Synthèse, Mr. Patrice MELOM, Director General of the Autonomous Port of Kribi, reiterated his full commitment to pursuing a strategy that has already yielded tangible results. He pledged to ensure effective monitoring of the new recommendations emerging from this 4th edition.
Through this forum, Kribi Port strengthens its role as a strategic player in regional socio-economic development, contributing to positioning Cameroon as a leading logistics hub in Central Africa.
Strengthening corridor fluidity and regional integration between sister nations
Kribi Port Hosts the 4th Tripartite Forum: CAR–Chad–Cameroon
On Tuesday, January 9, 2024, the Autonomous Port of Kribi (PAK) is hosting the 4th Tripartite Forum between the Central African Republic (CAR), Chad, and Cameroon, focusing on facilitating cargo transit to landlocked countries via the ports of Kribi and Douala.
Held under the patronage of Cameroon’s Ministry of Transport, in collaboration with the national port community Port-Synthèse, the forum brings together Transport Ministers of the three countries, shippers, carriers, and logistics professionals from the sub-region.
🤝 Regional dialogue for practical improvements
Over the course of three days, participants will:

Assess current barriers affecting the efficiency and competitiveness of the Kribi-Douala-N’Djamena and Kribi-Douala-Bangui corridors,

Evaluate past initiatives, and
-
Propose sustainable solutions to enhance transit operations.
Noteworthy achievements already made by the Cameroonian side include:

Allocation of port plots to Chadian and Central African operators,
-
Suspension of parking penalties,
-
Establishment of Chadian and CAR customs posts at the Kribi Port.
This forum reaffirms Cameroon’s unwavering commitment to regional solidarity, economic integration, and the creation of seamless and secure trade corridors across Central Africa.
