This Thursday, 18 December, marks a significant milestone for the Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the PAK, the Cameroon Oil Storage Company (SCDP) and the PARLYM/EJN Consortium. Together, the partners are setting the groundwork for the future Kribi Hydrocarbons Terminal, an infrastructure poised to reshape Cameroon’s energy landscape.
The Kribi Hydrocarbons Terminal will be structured around a deep-water oil jetty, high-capacity storage tanks and an interconnected pipeline network. This integrated design will enable the accommodation of larger vessels, streamline supply chains and significantly reduce logistics costs.
Beyond its technical scope, the project is expected to deliver tangible strategic benefits. It will help secure hydrocarbon flows and ensure reliable supply, strengthen the national strategic stock to better withstand fluctuations in global markets, and enhance the competitiveness of Cameroon’s energy sector through a modernized logistics framework.
The memorandum, signed for a 12-month duration, will allow the partners to refine and consolidate the technical concept of the project ahead of key investment decisions.
This collective initiative reflects the Port of Kribi’s vocation: to develop large-scale, structuring infrastructure capable of supporting Cameroon’s economic growth and reinforcing its strategic autonomy in critical sectors such as energy.
