A new P17 pilot boat to enhance port maneuvering safety and efficiency

On Tuesday, July 5, 2022, the Director General of the Port of Kribi, Mr. Patrice MELOM, received a new P17 pilot boat at the Mboro port platform. This vessel is designed to transport maritime pilots and ensure the safe maneuvering of incoming and outgoing ships.

A pilot boat for faster and safer operations

The pilot boat is a specialized vessel used to transport maritime pilots aboard ships entering or leaving the port.

Strengthening the PAK’s nautical equipment

The acquisition of the P17 pilot boat demonstrates the Port of Kribi (PAK)’s commitment to modernizing its nautical equipment and ensuring more efficient and secure port operations. Since its opening in 2018, the port has handled approximately 1,600 calls, and this new vessel will further streamline ship maneuvering.

A strategic step for port performance

This high-tech equipment aligns with the PAK’s strategy to strengthen maritime safety, operational speed, and service quality for all maritime transport stakeholders in Cameroon.
