Diversification, innovation, and visibility: Kribi emerges as a key African breakbulk player

From June 6 to 8, 2023, the Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) proudly participated in the Breakbulk Europe International Exhibition in Rotterdam (Netherlands), the world’s leading event for project and breakbulk cargo. This was a unique opportunity to enhance its reputation and showcase its expertise in port handling.

A dedicated delegation

Led by Michael MAMA, Director of Operations, and supported by a representative of Kribi Multipurpose Terminal (KMT), the PAK delegation seized the opportunity to:

  • highlight the operational excellence of the Kribi multipurpose terminal,

  • explore the latest technological innovations in the sector,

  • build new partnerships with global leaders in project cargo.

A strategic presence at the heart of discussions

The PAK stand (2k17), which attracted significant attention, highlighted:

  • the technical and logistical performance of the Mboro port platform,

  • the diversification of traffic including timber, clinker, biomass, rice, livestock, construction materials,

  • as well as the potential of the Kribi Integrated Industrial Zone (ZIIPK), which drew strong interest from investors impressed by Cameroon’s long-term port development vision.

A successful participation with concrete outcomes

The exhibition also offered numerous opportunities for B2B meetings, exchange of best practices, and exploration of new avenues for foreign direct investment. This dynamic networking further strengthens PAK’s role as a strategic interface between Africa and international markets.

For the record

Breakbulk Europe is the world’s largest event dedicated to project cargo, bringing together more than 600 exhibitors, 365 companies, and nearly 10,000 visitors from over 120 countries every year. The Port of Kribi has now established itself as a regular and influential participant at this global gathering.
