A strong commitment to the development of Northern Cameroon

As an official partner of the first edition of the International Economic Forum of the Septentrion (FECIS), the Port Authority of Kribi reaffirmed in Garoua its commitment to inclusive regional development driven by innovation, economic cooperation, and the promotion of local potential.

From Tuesday 9 to Wednesday 10 November 2025, the city of Garoua hosted the first edition of the International Economic Forum of the Septentrion (FECIS). Held under the high patronage of the Head of State, His Excellency Paul Biya, and organized by the Cameroon Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Crafts (CCIMA), the forum aimed to mobilize stakeholders from the Adamawa, North and Far North regions around the country’s economic and social development priorities.

The Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) took part in this inaugural edition as an official sponsor, underscoring its commitment to supporting regional initiatives that promote local potential, enhance territorial competitiveness, and encourage productive investment in Northern Cameroon.

FECIS, a showcase for the potential of the North

Under the auspices of the Northern Chamber of Commerce and led by Dr Abdoul-Nasser Ousmanou, FECIS General Delegate and President of the Northern Chamber of Commerce, the forum brought together public decision-makers, investors, entrepreneurs, and institutional partners around a shared ambition: positioning Northern Cameroon at the heart of the country’s development strategy.

During the opening ceremony, the Governor of the North Region, Jean Abate Edi’i, praised the innovative nature of the initiative and the strong mobilization of economic stakeholders. Over two days, exhibitions, thematic panels, B2B meetings, and high-level discussions highlighted the economic, human, and cultural assets of the Greater North.

PAK, a driver of innovation and sustainable development

Beyond its role as a sponsor, the Port Authority of Kribi actively contributed to the discussions through a panel dedicated to new technologies and digital transformation. PAK’s intervention focused on the importance of innovation in trade facilitation and the modernization of the logistics chain.

Its representative emphasized that the digitalization of port processes and the dematerialization of services are now key levers for reducing lead times, improving transparency, and boosting competitiveness. Through this contribution, PAK demonstrated how a modern public enterprise can serve as a catalyst for growth and collective progress.

A symbolic and strategic presence

PAK’s participation in FECIS 2025 reflects its commitment to balanced, inclusive, and sustainable development across Cameroon. By supporting this first edition, the Port Authority of Kribi reaffirmed its role as a strategic partner in national development, while highlighting its openness to all regions of the country.

Through its presence in Northern Cameroon, PAK intends to continue strengthening economic cooperation, building synergies with local stakeholders, and promoting a shared vision of growth based on sustainability, innovation, and territorial integration.
