Kribi, a Central Hub for Cross-Border Trade
From 17 to 30 July 2025, the Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) took part, as a VIP partner, in the 16th edition of the Central African Cross-Border Trade Fair (FOTRAC), held in Kye-Ossi, at the strategic tri-border area between Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.
Placed under the high patronage of the Cameroonian Government and supported by CEMAC and UNOCA, this new edition revolved around an ambitious theme:
“Transforming Central African corridors into secure gateways for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and the AfCFTA.”
PAK’s participation aligns with its strategic objective to expand its regional influence. Through a strong institutional presence, the port reaffirmed its position as a logistics and industrial catalyst for Central Africa, in line with the ambitions of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Showcasing next-generation port infrastructure
Represented by Michaël Mama, Director of Operations, and Christian Mangwa, Head of PAK Representation in Yaoundé, the Port Authority of Kribi presented the advantages of its state-of-the-art infrastructure, particularly those stemming from the newly inaugurated Phase II development.
These include:
-
a 715-meter berth,
-
cutting-edge port equipment,
-
and enhanced reception capacity.
Such innovations firmly position Kribi as a key logistics hub for landlocked Central African countries — from Chad to the Central African Republic, including the northern regions of Congo.
A platform for business, youth and women entrepreneurship
During conferences and workshops, the PAK highlighted its commitment to supporting youth and women entrepreneurship, while exploring new business opportunities across regional value chains.
B2B meetings between visitors and PAK representatives helped build connections with economic operators from across the sub-region.
The opening ceremony on 23 July featured cultural performances and impactful institutional addresses.
Jeanne Danielle Nlate, President of REFAC (Network of Active Women of Central Africa), praised the mobilization of economic stakeholders and underscored PAK’s structuring role in facilitating cross-border trade.
A port beyond maritime operations
By actively participating in FOTRAC 2025, the Port Authority of Kribi once again demonstrated its ambition:
to be more than a maritime terminal –
to be a driver of regional integration,
a facilitator of the AfCFTA,
and a committed partner in transforming transport corridors into pathways for development.
