The New Senior Divisional Officer of the Ocean Division Visits the Port Authority of Kribi

The Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) welcomed, on August 27, the new Senior Divisional Officer of the Ocean Division, Mr. Bouba Hamane, accompanied by the Sub-Divisional Officer of Kribi. Guided by port officials, the delegation began its visit with a courtesy meeting at PAK’s Head Office before proceeding to the administrative building in Mboro and to various public security services operating within the port area.

Received by the Director General of PAK, Mr. Patrice MELOM, and his close collaborators, the SDO was briefed on the strategic vision of the Kribi Deep Seaport, its pivotal role in the national logistics chain, and its socio-economic impact on the Ocean Division. Discussions also covered key issues related to sustainable development, port governance, and consolidation of the security framework.

The delegation later toured the Mboro administrative complex, as well as major public security structures operating within the port, including the Port Police Station, the Gendarmerie Company, SEMIL, Customs, and the 74th Gendarmerie Squadron, among others. At each stop, officials provided detailed presentations on their missions and the mechanisms in place to ensure safety, control, and protection of strategic installations.

At the end of the visit, the SDO praised the quality of the reception and the professionalism of the teams. He reaffirmed the commitment of the administrative authorities to support the Port Authority of Kribi in fulfilling its missions, while emphasizing the need for enhanced coordination between the administration, PAK, and security forces.

This first official visit strengthens ties between the Port Authority of Kribi and the territorial administration, paving the way for a constructive partnership in support of regional and national development.
