PAK boosts operational capacity ahead of Phase II commissioning

The Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) announces the arrival, on Monday, October 14, 2024, of the vessel Fu Zhou Guo Ji, carrying a critical shipment of 13 Rubber Tired Gantry (RTG) yard cranes, 2 new reach stackers, and 3 empty container handlers.

This delivery marks a decisive milestone in the port’s ongoing expansion, as the commissioning of Phase II and its additional 715-meter quay draws near.

Cutting-edge equipment for enhanced port performance

This new shipment completes the first wave of equipment, which arrived on September 12, 2024, including 5 Ship-to-Shore (STS) cranes and 2 RTG yard cranes.

Now fully equipped with 5 STS cranes and 15 RTGs, Kribi Port is scaling up to:

  • Speed up vessel loading and unloading operations

  • Streamline port traffic and yard flow

  • Ensure safe and efficient container handling throughout the logistics chain

A port ready to meet growing regional demand

With these state-of-the-art machines, the Phase II quay is now fully prepared to handle the increasing demands of international maritime traffic. Operational capacity will effectively double, with an average performance rate of 24 container moves per hour per equipment, significantly reducing vessel turnaround times.

All teams are fully mobilized to complete this strategic phase, reinforcing Kribi Port’s position as a premier logistics hub in Central Africa.
