An Exclusive Dive into the Port of Kribi’s Strategic Potential
On September 4, 2024, the Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) welcomed a delegation of business leaders and economic operators from diverse sectors — including industry, distribution, and agri-food — for an exclusive immersion day dubbed “Inside the PAK.”
Strategic insights and strong engagement
The day kicked off with a courtesy visit, presided over on behalf of the Director General by Mr. SAADOU MOHAMADOU, Technical Advisor No. 1.
Guests were then treated to a presentation led by Mr. Michael MAMA AWOUMOU, Director of Operations, who showcased the key strengths of the Port of Kribi:
-
Sustained and steady growth,
-
Over 2,580 incident-free vessel calls,
-
Excellent nautical conditions and short anchorage waiting times,
-
First ISPS-certified port in Central Africa,
-
Tariffs up to 20% lower than some regional competitors,
-
Logistics cost absorption mechanisms,
-
A firm commitment to service digitalization,
-
And the strategic advantage of a large industrial and port zone.
A hands-on port infrastructure tour
Following the briefing, the thirty or so participants took part in a guided tour of the port’s key facilities. This allowed them to witness firsthand the operational performance and investment potential of the Kribi platform.
The tour also served to strengthen links between the port and the business community, paving the way for future partnerships and mutually beneficial opportunities.
