PAK and MINPMEESA join forces to boost local business ecosystems
On Friday, May 26, 2023, the Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) and Cameroon’s Ministry of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts (MINPMEESA) took a major step toward inclusive development.
In Kribi, Minister Achille BASSILEKIN III and PAK General manager, Patrice MELOM signed a framework partnership agreement, along with three specific agreements aimed at empowering local entrepreneurship.
Key focus: Supporting SMEs and formalizing local business
The agreements target:
-
Development of subcontracting opportunities around the port area,
-
Transitioning informal sector actors into the formal economy,
-
Support for local incubators and entrepreneurship structures.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to create jobs, stimulate innovation, and build inclusive growth within the PAK’s operational zone.
For GM Patrice MELOM, this partnership reflects the port’s CSR strategy and its commitment to regional integration and social impact.
