Tuesday, 9 May 2025, will enter the annals of Cameroon’s maritime history Presided over by , Ernest Massena NGALLÈ BIBÉHÈ, Minister of Transport and attended by his counterparts from the Ministries of Finance, Forestry and Wildlife, along with a host of administrative, diplomatic, and economic authorities, the Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) officially launched operations for Phase II of the port.
⚓ A symbolic berthing by MSC TÜRKIYE
An unprecedented event on the quay: MSC TÜRKIYE, a 400-metre-long megamax vessel with a capacity of nearly 24,000 TEUs, berthed without the need for any reduction manoeuvres.
A premier in Central Africa, which illustrates an increase in the port’s operational capacities.
🏗️ A State-of-the-art infrastructure
Resulting from a strategic investment of USD 793 million, this expansion project comprises key developments such as :

A 715-metre-long and 16-metre-depth quay

A 51-hectare terminal platform

State-of-the-art equipment: STS cranes, RTGs, mobile cranes, terminal tractors, and more.
🌍 The Materialisation of vision
This feat brings to life the vision of the Head of State, His Excellency President Paul BIYA, who laid the foundation stone back in 2011.
Today, Cameroon proudly boasts of a port that can compete with the world’s key platforms, serving as a hub for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), a powerhouse for regional economic integration, and a pillar of the National Development Strategy 2020–2030 (SND30).
