A strategic contribution to the safety and resilience of African logistics

The Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) is playing an active role in the International Conference on Maritime Insurance in Africa, officially launched by the Cameroon National Shippers’ Council (CNCC) under the high patronage of the Minister of Transport.

The opening ceremony brought together maritime experts, insurers, shippers, port authorities and public and private institutions from across the continent. Discussions are centered on a crucial issue: protecting maritime trade through effective and well-regulated insurance frameworks.

🔍 A Critical Pillar for Africa’s Logistical Sovereignty

In a context of growing maritime trade and the need for greater sovereignty and risk management, maritime insurance is emerging as a strategic tool for supporting the competitiveness and sustainability of African logistics. The forum seeks to define the challenges, regulatory needs and innovative pathways toward improved cargo protection.

🚢 The Port of Kribi’s Commitment

As a key logistics hub in Central Africa, PAK contributes its expertise and experience on matters of security, regulatory compliance, traceability, and reliability of port operations. This involvement underscores its determination to help build a resilient and harmonized insurance framework for Africa.

🤝 A Cross-Sector Dialogue Platform

Beyond technical discussions, the event also serves as a platform for multi-sector dialogue, encouraging collaboration, innovation, and regional coordination to strengthen maritime logistics, improve risk management, and lay the groundwork for a continental insurance ecosystem that serves both intra-African and international trade.
