PAK Explores Strategic Collaboration with Bureau Veritas

A working session held on July 31, 2023, set the groundwork for a partnership focused on compliance, quality, and performance.

The Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) has initiated discussions with Bureau Veritas to establish a long-term partnership aimed at strengthening its compliance framework and continuous improvement system. This initiative aligns with PAK’s vision to benchmark its operations against international standards.

On July 31, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., the Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) held a working session dedicated to setting up a strategic collaboration with Bureau Veritas (BV). Chaired by Mr. Saadou Mohamadou, Technical Advisor No. 2, this meeting was convened in accordance with Decision No. 1301/D/DG/PAK/2023 of June 21, 2023, which established the framework for cooperation between the two institutions.

The discussions focused on clarifying the objectives of the potential partnership, particularly the enhancement of PAK’s quality and compliance management systems. The Technical Secretariat Coordinator provided a summary of previous activities following meetings between PAK and Bureau Veritas, led by the Port Commander, Mr. Ndi Mendugena Bertrand.

Participants also reviewed the regulatory and procedural requirements governing collaborations with external entities, emphasizing adherence to public procurement standards and internal approval processes.

At the close of the meeting, PAK reaffirmed its commitment to continue technical exchanges with Bureau Veritas and to submit proposed orientations to the General Management for validation. This initiative represents a strategic step forward in strengthening Kribi Port’s operational excellence and aligning its management practices with international compliance and quality benchmarks.
