Free Anchorage and Maximum Security: The Port of Kribi's Commitment to Safe Maritime Operations

Strengthening regional maritime safety through free anchorage and armed protection services.

At the Port of Kribi (PAK), vessel safety is a top priority. As part of its dedication to secure and efficient maritime services, the PAK offers free anchorage to vessels calling at its waters, along with maximum security measures to protect both ships and crews.

To reinforce these efforts, the PAK collaborates closely with the Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR), a specialized unit of the State’s Defense Forces. Upon request and at vessel arrival, the BIR deploys armed guards to board the ships or carry out armed patrols around the anchorage zone. These measures are designed to deter threats and ensure peace of mind for operators navigating the Gulf of Guinea.

This proactive initiative plays a vital role in combating maritime insecurity in the region, reaffirming the Port of Kribi’s strategic position as a safe and reliable gateway for international maritime traffic.
