PAK Reaffirms Its Strong Commitment to Staff Welfare
During the General Assembly of the Mutual Loan Association of PAK Staff (MUPAK) held on 27 November 2025, the Port Authority of Kribi highlighted major social achievements, strengthened governance, and unveiled new initiatives aimed at improving the daily lives of its members.
On Thursday, 27 November 2025, the Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the well-being of its staff during the traditional General Assembly of the Mutual Loan Association of PAK Staff (MUPAK).
Held at the Kribi Pastoral Centre and chaired by Mr. Saadou Mohamadou, Technical Advisor No. 1 and representative of the PAK General Manager, the meeting gathered MUPAK members in a warm, engaging atmosphere that encouraged dialogue and interaction.
A Year of Consolidation and High-Impact Initiatives
The 2025 activity report presented at the opening highlighted a year marked by institutional strengthening and improved internal processes. Key achievements included:
-
184 new members joining the mutual association;
-
88 children benefiting from full school-fee coverage in partner institutions in Kribi;
-
Introduction of an interest-free school loan of 120,000 CFAF to support families during the back-to-school season.
The report also underlined the association’s stronger financial discipline and its responsiveness to members’ social needs.
Growing Partnerships for Better Member Benefits
Discussions with several strategic partners — ORANGE Cameroon, KIA Motors, and KM Motors — have opened promising prospects. These partnerships are expected to provide:
-
Preferential rates on telecom services;
-
Tailored vehicle-financing solutions;
-
Additional social advantages for MUPAK members.
Negotiations are ongoing, with memorandums of understanding currently being finalised.
Progress Toward the MUPAK Club Project
One of the most significant developments was the completion of feasibility studies for the MUPAK Club, a project fully financed by the Port Authority of Kribi. This infrastructure will enhance social services and provide members with a dedicated recreational and support space.
Internal Audit and Strengthening of Governance
An internal audit conducted in the first quarter uncovered several shortcomings, including missing beneficiary forms, incomplete files, and discrepancies in civil-status documents.
To address these issues, the Secretary-General implemented a corrective action plan focused on:
-
Updating member records;
-
Regularising pending documents;
-
Contacting concerned members;
-
Strengthening administrative reliability.
This approach has significantly improved data accuracy and reduced operational risks.
Looking Ahead: Ambitious Goals for 2026
The General Assembly also provided a platform for open discussions, enabling members to express concerns and contribute proposals. Priorities for 2026 include:
-
Automating the issuance of tax statements;
-
Establishing an interoperable monitoring dashboard;
-
Introducing quarterly reminders to improve communication and follow-up.
A Gathering That Strengthened Unity
The meeting concluded with words of encouragement from the Technical Advisor No. 1 and the MUPAK President. Participants then enjoyed an immersive presentation of JETOUR vehicles offered by SKY Motors, adding a convivial touch to the event.
Members left the assembly with a renewed sense of belonging and shared optimism for the years ahead.
