A Presidential Decree Officially Defines the Port Domain of Kribi

A major milestone has been reached by the Autonomous Port of Kribi (PAK). By Presidential Decree dated June 23, 2023, the Government of Cameroon has officially delineated the public port domain of Kribi, granting the PAK a solid legal foundation to secure investments, develop infrastructure, and enhance its strategic value.

πŸ—ΊοΈ A Clearly Defined Jurisdiction

Until now, it was difficult to define the exact boundaries of the Kribi port area. That uncertainty has been resolved: Article 2 of the decree specifies that 15,000 hectares, 29 ares, and 80 centiares now constitute the official port domain, carved out from the larger 26,000 ha of the Kribi Industrial-Port Complex (CIPK).

βš“ A Boost for Development and Investor Confidence

The land title is a game-changer. As outlined in Article 3, management authority is granted to PAK, enabling it to:

  • Develop its Industrial Port Zone (ZIP) efficiently;

  • Structure urban-port interactions;

  • Protect its domain against illegal occupation or misuse.

For investors, this move eliminates legal uncertainty and offers strong guarantees for long-term projects. With world-class infrastructure, improved logistics, and a strategically located port, Kribi is more than ever a premium destination for industrial and maritime investment.
