The Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) has reached a new milestone with the official inauguration of the CIMPOR cement plant on Friday, July 19, 2024, by the Prime Minister and Head of Government, H.E. Joseph DION NGUTÉ.
This high-profile event, attended by several government and economic dignitaries, reinforces the status of the Kribi Industrial-Port Zone (ZIPK) as a strategic driver of Cameroon’s economic growth.
A Presidential Vision in Motion
In a visionary statement, the President of the Republic, H.E. Paul Biya, declared:
“The development of the Kribi industrial-port zone will enable our country to achieve emergence.”
This affirmation highlights the significance of this project in transforming the national economy through industrialization and infrastructure development.
CIMPOR: Kribi’s First Cement Plant, Cameroon’s Sixth
With a production capacity of one million tons of cement per year, CIMPOR Kribi becomes the first cement plant in Kribi and the sixth in Cameroon.
Its optimal functioning is supported by clinker supplies from the port’s multipurpose terminal, ensuring efficient logistics and cost-effective operations.
Located in a vibrant zone already hosting over twenty industrial and logistics companies, CIMPOR further positions Kribi as a leading industrial hub in Central Africa.
A Ceremonial Moment for the Nation
The ribbon-cutting ceremony and guided tour of the state-of-the-art facilities took place in a festive and forward-looking atmosphere, symbolizing the confidence in Kribi’s industrial future.
The inauguration of CIMPOR Kribi is a major step forward in the Port Authority of Kribi’s mission to transform the ZIPK into a pillar of Cameroon’s economic emergence.
