Kribi Delivers on Its Promise: Phase 2 of the Deep-Sea Port is Officially Completed and Soon to Be Operational!
A new era begins for Cameroon’s flagship port infrastructure
On February 21, 2025, the Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) officially took delivery of the newly constructed infrastructure of Phase 2 of the Kribi Deep-Sea Port, handed over by its builder, China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC). This technical handover marks the completion of the extension works and confirms that the new facilities are ready for operation.
A Major Platform Soon to Be Commissioned
The handover of the infrastructure is a key milestone ahead of its commissioning. The most anticipated event is scheduled for the end of March, with the official launch ceremony, featuring the arrival of the very first commercial vessel at the new terminal—signaling the start of operations on this expanded platform.
A Strategic Infrastructure for Central Africa
With this extension, the Port of Kribi strengthens its position as a leading maritime, logistics, and industrial hub in Africa. Equipped with state-of-the-art and higher-capacity infrastructure, Phase 2 significantly boosts the port’s operational capabilities, enabling it to handle larger volumes of cargo and support the growth of its industrial base.
A Presidential Vision Materialized
This flagship project aligns with the strategic vision of His Excellency President Paul BIYA, who aims to position Cameroon as a key player in global value chains. Under the leadership of Mr. Patrice MELOM, General Manager of the Port Authority of Kribi, Phase 2 brings this vision to life by providing the country with a logistics platform capable of attracting large-scale industrial investment.
Kribi: A National Pride and Symbol of Emergence
The delivery of Phase 2 is more than just a technical success—it is a symbol of Cameroon’s progress toward economic emergence. The Port Authority of Kribi invites citizens, partners, and economic stakeholders to stay tuned as this historic transformation unfolds—and to share in the pride of a strategic infrastructure serving national development.
