International Women’s Rights Day

A vibrant week of activities to commemorate the 36ᵗʰ International Women’s Day at the Kribi Port Authority.

The 2021 International Women’s Day (IWD) at the Kribi Port Authority was marked by a festive and meaningful celebration, spearheaded by the PAK Women’s Association (AFPAK).

The highlight was the “Togetherness Day”, held on March 8, featuring a gastronomic and cultural exhibition fair.

Celebrated under the theme “Women’s leadership and gender equality for a world without Covid,” the week-long activities were conducted with full adherence to health protocols. Director General Patrice MELOM, visibly impressed, praised the women of PAK for their dedication, creativity, and sense of community.

A week of solidarity, energy, and impact

AFPAK put together a full agenda throughout the week:

  • Monday, March 1: Covid-19 awareness workshop and first aid training.

  • Tuesday, March 2: Roundtable discussion on women’s leadership and the annual theme.

  • Wednesday, March 3: Fitness walk and a handball match among staff.

  • Friday, March 5: Donations to local orphanages and an excursion to the Bivouba pygmy camp.

  • Monday, March 8: Culmination with the Cultural “Togetherness Day”, showcasing unity in diversity.
