International Audit: IMO visits the Port of Kribi

Assessing regulatory compliance and maritime convention implementation

Kribi, September 23, 2022. A delegation of experts from the International Maritime Organization (IMO) visited the Kribi Autonomous Port (PAK) as part of a national audit of port infrastructures and procedures.

The delegation, led by Captain ASIVA COOPEN, was received by Mr. Patrice MELOM, General Manager of the PAK. The objective of the visit was to review the regulatory framework adopted in line with IMO guidelines, and to assess Cameroon’s implementation of ratified maritime conventions.

Key moments of the mission included:

  • an official audience with the PAK’s top management;

  • a technical tour of the Mboro port facilities;

  • a closed-door working session with operational staff.

This audit reflects Cameroon’s and PAK’s shared commitment to enhancing maritime governance, ensuring safe port operations, and aligning with international standards to boost competitiveness.
