Hackathon Pak 2023

Eight finalist teams competed in a healthy and inspiring contest of ideas.

🏆 A strong and promising podium

After a careful evaluation by the jury, three teams stood out for the relevance, creativity, and feasibility of their projects:

• SMART BIN (1st place)

• CALVIA (2nd place)

• ECO (3rd place)

Each team passionately presented its project to an attentive audience and a panel of experts.

💡 Victory for green technology

The winner, SMART BIN, impressed with a project to develop smart bins capable of sorting and recycling waste using solar-powered sensors. The bins will be connected to smartphones via a mobile app and website, creating a digital solution for better waste management.

🎓 Real support for real impact

Beyond the cash prize, the top three teams will receive one-year mentorship and support to implement their solutions.
This second edition confirms the Autonomous Port of Kribi’s (PAK) position as a smart port and a true catalyst for youth entrepreneurship, especially in digital and environmental innovation.

One day to go: training sessions, port visits, and growing anticipation

On Thursday, January 12, 2023, just one day before the PAK Hackathon Grand Finale, the teams in competition took part in a series of strategic training workshops aimed at preparing them for the big day.

These sessions were designed to:

• Help refine the presentation of their projects,

• Provide answers to their questions about Kribi’s port ecosystem,

• And give them the tools to pitch their ideas convincingly before the jury.

🎓 Strong institutional support

During this preparation phase, the young innovators received words of encouragement from the Technical Adviser No. 1 and the Director of Planning and Environment of the Autonomous Port of Kribi.
They emphasized the importance of this competition for the port and wished the candidates the very best as they head into the final round.

⚓ Day -2: Discovering the Port of Kribi

After their arrival in the coastal city of Kribi, the participants had the opportunity to visit the port facilities—a meaningful experience that allowed them to better understand the environment where their proposed solutions may soon take shape.

Tomorrow, the teams will attend a final coaching session to polish their concepts before defending them during the finale on Friday, January 13.

For three days, the coastal city of Kribi will host this original competition in a format inspired by a startup boxing ring, where ideas will clash in a spirit of healthy rivalry.
