Technology as a Strategic Lever for Digital Cooperation and Investment

From 17 to 21 October, the Port Authority of Kribi took part in GITEX in Dubai, a major global technology event that highlighted Africa as an emerging hub for digital investment and innovation.

The Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC) hosted, from 17 to 21 October, the 41st edition of GITEX, one of the world’s leading events dedicated to information technologies and digital innovation. This flagship gathering brought together public institutions, startups, investors, and senior executives from major global technology groups.

The Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) participated in this high-level event, reaffirming its commitment to keeping pace with technological developments reshaping the port, logistics, and industrial sectors worldwide. PAK’s presence at GITEX forms part of its strategy of technological monitoring and the pursuit of innovative partnerships aimed at modernising operations and enhancing the competitiveness of the Kribi port platform.

From the opening of the exhibition, Africa was placed in the spotlight, reflecting the growing interest of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the continent, increasingly viewed as a major destination for digital investment and innovation. This orientation underscores the UAE’s ambition to strengthen economic and technological ties with African countries.

Throughout the event, GITEX provided a privileged platform to explore cutting-edge solutions in key areas such as digital transformation, digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and smart technologies applied to logistics and intelligent ports.

By taking part in GITEX, the Port Authority of Kribi reaffirmed its ambition to integrate global innovation dynamics, leverage emerging technologies, and strengthen strategic cooperation with international technology players, particularly within the Africa–Middle East axis.

Through this participation, PAK once again confirms its vision of a modern, connected, and forward-looking port, capable of supporting international trade and contributing to Cameroon’s economic attractiveness.
