Business and Values: PAK Hosts a Team-Building Session on CSR

PAK highlights Corporate Social Responsibility through a participatory approach

On Monday, May 6, 2024, the Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) launched the third edition of its Team Building program at Le Lagon Hotel in Kribi, under the theme: “Introduction to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).”
This initiative is designed to offer employees a unique experience and to empower them to become ambassadors of PAK’s CSR policy within surrounding communities.

Objectives of the Team Building

Initiated by Top Management and coordinated by the consultancy firm GO Ahead Africa, this annual event aims to foster collective fulfillment and team spirit in an environment different from the workplace.
Through a participatory approach, employees are encouraged to take ownership of PAK’s CSR values and integrate them into both their professional and personal practices.

A Strong Opening Session

The launch was marked by the participation of Mr. Saadou Mohamadou, Technical Adviser No. 1, who officially opened the session.
The workshops are facilitated with the technical support of seasoned consultants such as Roland Kwemain and Émile, well-known experts in capacity building, organizational management, and CSR-related issues.

Engaging and Collaborative Activities

Throughout the week, the program included interactive and creative activities such as dance, word games, and collective painting.
These activities aim to strengthen employee commitment to CSR and promote solidarity-driven initiatives for the benefit of local communities.

PAK’s CSR Mission

PAK’s CSR mission is to position the Port of Kribi as the largest industrial port and a major economic hub on the African coast, built on the principles of sustainable development.

The workshops allowed participants to:

  • gain a deeper understanding of CSR, its dimensions, and its key challenges for PAK;

  • propose CSR projects beneficial to the port and surrounding communities;

  • identify specific actions in terms of Individual Social Responsibility (ISR) to complement and reinforce PAK’s CSR efforts.

From ISR to CSR: Building a Collective Commitment

Everyday actions — such as respect, solidarity, sharing, and support for vulnerable groups — add significant value to CSR when practiced individually.
Through these gestures, each employee becomes both an actor and an ambassador of the Port Authority of Kribi’s values.

👉 With this initiative, PAK demonstrates that economic performance and social responsibility go hand in hand in building a modern, sustainable port deeply rooted in its environment.
