Bolloré Transport & Logistics Inaugurates the Kribi Logistics Hub

A modern platform to boost Cameroon’s and Central Africa’s logistics competitiveness

On June 8, 2022, Bolloré Transport & Logistics Cameroon inaugurated the new Kribi Logistics Hub in the Kribi industrial-port area, under the high patronage of the Minister of Transport. Entirely built by local SMEs, this infrastructure strengthens the logistics chain for Cameroon and the hinterland.

A strategic infrastructure at the heart of Kribi’s Industrial-Port Zone

Located next to the Kribi Container Terminal (KCT), the logistics hub spans 24,000 m² in its first phase, as part of a project covering 7 hectares. Designed to receive, store, and deliver import and export goods, it represents a first-of-its-kind facility in the port city of Kribi.

More than 4 billion FCFA (around €6 million) were invested in this initial stage, out of a total project budget of 7 billion FCFA (over €10 million). The works, completed in 18 months, were carried out exclusively by Cameroonian SMEs, underscoring Bolloré’s commitment to local development.

Modern and tailored facilities

The first phase includes:

  • a 7,700 m² container yard,

  • a 6,000 m² warehouse,

  • a 900 m² canopy allowing container operations even during heavy rains,

  • a 380 m³ water tank for fire safety,

  • waiting and unloading zones,

  • a technical area and modern office space.

Future phases will see the development of the remaining 4.3 hectares, including the construction of three additional warehouses of 6,000 m² each, providing 18,000 m² of additional storage capacity.

A vital link for the hinterland

With a direct 2.9 km road connection to the deep-sea port of Kribi, the Kribi Logistics Hub is expected to streamline trade flows not only for Cameroon but also for hinterland countries such as Chad and the Central African Republic.

According to Philippe Labonne, President of Bolloré Africa Logistics:

“This logistics infrastructure will strengthen the efforts of Cameroonian authorities in developing local value chains and will boost export capacities for both Cameroon and the hinterland.”

Synergies and a vision for the future

In synergy with the Port Authority of Kribi (PAK), Cameroon Customs, and the Kribi Container Terminal, this logistics base is positioned as a true driver of competitiveness.

For Serge Agnero, Regional Director for the Gulf of Guinea at Bolloré Transport & Logistics:

“The Kribi Logistics Hub is an essential link in the logistics chain, serving the development of the new industrial-port zone and the wider sub-region. We are committed to providing our clients with excellent service quality while ensuring full control of logistics costs.”
