From July 1st to 3rd, 2024, the Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) participated in the 9th meeting of the Harbour Masters and Port Facility Security Officers (PFSO) Network of AGPAOC (Port Management Association of West and Central Africa), held in Praia, Cape Verde.

Forward-looking discussions on port operations

This edition served as a platform to:

  • Review previous recommendations;

  • Tackle forward-thinking topics such as the use of artificial intelligence in port operations;

  • Explore youth maritime employment opportunities;

  • And enhance strategies for the management of dangerous goods.

A milestone for Kribi

The highlight of the event was the election of Mr. Ndi Mendugena Bertrand, Harbour Master of the Port of Kribi, as President of the AGPAOC Harbour Masters and PFSO Network, with 25 votes against 18.

This election reflects the growing regional influence of the Port of Kribi and its commitment to improving port practices, safety, and innovation.

With this new role, PAK confirms its status as a regional benchmark in smart port management and maritime security.
