44th Annual General Assembly of PMAWCA: Strengthening Africa’s Port Connectivity
The Port Authority of Kribi takes part in strategic discussions in Conakry on the future of African ports
From November 18 to 21, 2024, Conakry, Republic of Guinea, hosted the 44th Annual General Assembly of PMAWCA (Port Management Association of West and Central Africa). The Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) took an active part in this major gathering of maritime leaders, held under the theme: “Optimizing Hinterland Connectivity: Challenges of Connectivity, Flexibility, and Reliability.”
The Guinean capital came alive with rich discussions and exchanges during the 44th General Assembly of PMAWCA, a flagship event bringing together port authorities, maritime experts, and logistics stakeholders from across West and Central Africa.
This year’s theme — “Optimizing Hinterland Connectivity: Challenges of Connectivity, Flexibility, and Reliability” — provided a platform for participants to explore the major challenges facing African ports, particularly those linked to supply chain efficiency, competitiveness, and regional integration.
The Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) actively contributed to the discussions, reaffirming its commitment to promoting efficient and sustainable connectivity between ports and their hinterlands. The debates highlighted the importance of enhanced cooperation among African ports to address infrastructure modernization, digital transformation, and environmental sustainability.
Through technical workshops, panel discussions, and networking sessions, participants identified new opportunities for collaboration and shared practical experiences in port management, innovation, and interoperability.
