10th Meeting of Harbour Masters and Port Facility Security Officers (PFSO)
The Port Authority of Kribi stands alongside sub-regional ports
From July 1 to 3, 2025, the city of Monrovia, Liberia hosted the 10th Meeting of Harbour Masters and Port Facility Security Officers (PFSO), organized under the auspices of AGPAOC. The Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) actively participated, reaffirming its commitment to maritime safety and security.
Strong Representation from PAK
PAK was represented by:

the Harbour Master (PSO), Captain Bertrand NDI MENDUGENA,

the Head of the Safety and Security Control Department (Deputy PSO), Captain Mustapha MOHAMED.
Their presence provided an opportunity to share PAK’s experience and best practices in port security, while strengthening regional cooperation.
A Key Regional Gathering
This annual meeting brings together harbour master’s offices and security services from member ports across West and Central Africa. It serves as a platform for exchange and collaboration to:

reinforce maritime safety and security,

enhance the protection of the marine environment,
-
promote inter-port cooperation and collaboration with national and regional bodies.
Addressing Key Security Challenges
The gathering of more than 70 Harbour Masters and PFSOs revolved around a central question:
How can Harbour Masters and PFSOs leverage digitalization, artificial intelligence, and inter-port cooperation to sustainably address the security challenges facing ports in West and Central Africa?
Key topics included:

Crisis management with a focus on the handling of dangerous goods,
-
the implementation of the Maritime Single Window, now mandatory under IMO regulations.
Cameroon’s Active Involvement
Alongside PAK, the National Ports Authority and the Port Authority of Douala were also present, confirming Cameroon’s active role in advancing regional cooperation in port security.
