Clinker Now Unloaded at the Port of Kribi
A new chapter in bulk and cement logistics at the multipurpose terminal
The Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) took a major logistical step forward on the night of January 5, 2022, with the arrival of its very first vessel carrying clinker, a key raw material in cement production.
The vessel successfully docked at the multipurpose terminal, marking the official opening of this new type of cargo traffic at Kribi.
A total of 21,000 metric tons of clinker are currently being unloaded for MIRA, a cement company based in Douala. The operation was carried out smoothly, thanks to the efficiency of port teams and the terminal operator.
Growing volumes and industrial potential
A second vessel is expected soon, this time to supply CIMPOR, a new cement plant based within the industrial zone adjacent to the port. These clinker imports reinforce Kribi’s position as a strategic entry point for Cameroon’s industrial supply chains, especially for the construction and manufacturing sectors.
With this growing activity, Kribi is confirming its role as a modern logistics hub for raw materials, in line with the country’s ambitions for industrial transformation and value-added processing.
