Port Authority of Kribi Engages Business Leaders at the First Nexus Business Network Event
More than 55 business professionals gathered at Krystal Palace Douala to discuss port procedures, costs, digital tools and business opportunities.
The first edition of the Nexus Business Network brought together more than 55 business professionals in Douala, exceeding its target of 50 attendees. The Port Authority of Kribi presented practical information on its procedures, costs and digital tools, followed by lively discussions and business networking.
Practical information to support business decisions
On Wednesday evening, the Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) met with business leaders at Krystal Palace Douala as part of the inaugural Nexus Business Network (NBN) event.
Rather than focusing on broad institutional presentations, the session addressed practical matters relevant to businesses, including port procedures, costs, digital tools, trade routes and commercial terms. The aim was to provide participants with concrete information to help them understand port services and make informed decisions.
A lively question-and-answer session
The question-and-answer session generated strong engagement. For nearly 30 minutes, participants asked questions, sought clarification and exchanged views in both English and French.
The discussion highlighted businesses’ interest in the information presented and in direct dialogue with the PAK.
Business connections facilitated by the Nexus Map
One of the event’s highlights was the business-matching activity. Each participant received a Nexus Map, a directory outlining the profiles, activities and business needs of the people attending.
Participants were invited to identify three people and introduce themselves. Using the information in their maps, they initiated focused conversations and connected with potential business partners on the basis of shared interests.
Networking continued during the cocktail reception, with many participants staying to pursue their conversations.
A successful first edition, with more to come
Organised by the Nexus Business Network, with support from the PAK and DiDreams, the event was developed over three months. Despite several date changes, attendance exceeded the initial target of 50, with more than 55 participants.
The PAK thanks everyone who took part, as well as DiDreams for developing the platform. It also acknowledges the media coverage provided by Canal 2, Balafon TV, CRTV and other media outlets.
The Nexus Business Network community is now active, and preparations for its second edition are already underway.
