A Strategic Immersion in Artificial Intelligence for Port Operations
From February 2 to 6, 2026, the Port Autonome de Kribi took part in a specialized training program in Valencia, Spain, focused on the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced digital tools in port data management.
This initiative reflects the Port Authority’s ongoing commitment to modernization and innovation, as it continues to enhance its information systems and adopt cutting-edge solutions aimed at improving operational efficiency and decision-making.
The training provided exposure to digital solutions already implemented in several international ports. Discussions centered on practical uses of AI in the port sector, including operational data analysis, real-time activity monitoring, intelligent management of port land and maritime spaces, and optimization of vessel call planning.
Participants also explored advanced mapping and spatial management tools, integrating land and maritime data to support better infrastructure utilization and provide a comprehensive, real-time overview of port activities.
Beyond the technical aspects, the program offered a valuable opportunity for experience sharing, exchange of best practices, and insight into emerging trends shaping modern ports in the digital era.
Through this initiative, the Port Authority of Kribi reaffirms its ambition to remain at the forefront of innovation and to steadily advance toward the development of a Smart Port, capable of meeting the growing demands of global maritime trade.
