PAK Honored at the 45th Annual PMAWCA Council

Recognized for Excellence in Statistical Data Reporting and Capacity-Building Policies

From 4 to 7 November 2025, Pointe-Noire (Congo) hosted the 45th Annual Council of PMAWCA along with the 20th Roundtable of Port Directors. Over 300 participants gathered to discuss strategies to boost the competitiveness, modernisation and sustainability of West and Central African ports.

Summary of the Event

Held under the high patronage of President Denis Sassou-N’Guesso, the meeting brought together representatives from 24 member ports to address key issues such as port land management, environmental transition, infrastructure resilience and digital transformation. Discussions highlighted current challenges and identified strategic solutions for more efficient and sustainable port governance.

Key recommendations included:

  • The revision of PMAWCA’s foundational texts;

  • The construction of a Professional Training Centre in Cotonou;

  • Strengthened regional and international cooperation;

  • Greater integration of digital tools for dynamic and secure port land management.

PAK Receives Two Distinctions

During the 9th edition of the PMAWCA Awards, the Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) was honored for Best Statistical Data Communication and Best Capacity-Building Policy, acknowledging its commitment to transparency, modernisation, and human capital development.

Looking Ahead

The Council concluded with a renewed commitment to accelerating the transformation of the African port sector. The next PMAWCA Annual Council and Roundtable will take place in Equatorial Guinea.
