World Climate Day 2022
World Climate Day: PAK Raises Awareness on Climate Change and Maritime Transport
Shipping, ocean and climate: understanding and acting on interconnected challenges
As part of the World Climate Day celebration, the Autonomous Port of Kribi (PAK) held a climate awareness workshop on December 8, 2022, in Kribi, bringing together port users and stakeholders.
๐ Climate and maritime transport: a shared responsibility
Held under the High Patronage of the Minister of Transport, the workshop aimed to raise awareness among stakeholders about the impact of climate change on maritime transport, and to promote the use of reliable meteorological data in planning commercial, logistical and industrial activities.
๐ A message for the entire port community
This event served as a reminder of the complex link between climate, oceans, and shipping, especially in a world where 90% of global trade by volume and 70% by value is carried by sea.
It is a call to action for Kribiโs port ecosystem to embed climate resilience into its daily operations and long-term strategies.
