PAK, a Future Growth Hub: MINEPAT’s Visit to the Mboro Site
A key step towards the establishment of the Kribi Port Economic Zone
On July 29, 2020, a delegation of senior officials from the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Territorial Development (MINEPAT) carried out a field visit to the Mboro site, as part of a workshop dedicated to the creation of the Kribi Port Economic Zone.
A port with strong strategic potential
Thanks to its strategic geographical location, the diversity of its activities, and the quality of its existing infrastructure, the Kribi deep seaport has been identified as one of the flagship sites to host a benchmark economic zone.
Objectives of the mission
The purpose of this visit was to allow the government team in charge of the project to gain first-hand insight into the realities on the ground and to assess the industrial and port potential of the Kribi site.
A structuring project for the future
The establishment of this economic zone will strengthen the role of the Port Authority of Kribi as a true growth hub and a catalyst for industrial and logistical development, not only for Cameroon but also for the sub-region.
