TransAtlantic Date with the full goods scanner In the framework of the Project for Securing Operations at the Depth of DeKribi, the Government has signed - by the port authority company - on November 30th, a concession contract for the operation and maintenance of scanners at the port of Kribi, intended to perform the non-hazardous inspection. intrusive cargo. It was with the company called TransAtlantic. The latter has indeed acquired twoscanners from the company "AmericanScienceandEngineering" (AS & E). These scanners have been released from the DePortautonomics DeKribi (PAK) for operation, and associated with aPortaMonitorRadiation (RPM), which is a device for detecting any radioactive sources in the containers. ThisRPM makes it possible to comply with the requirements of the American Guards, which is necessary for the shipment of the controllers to the United States.TransAtlanticBusiness is the local entity, which has obtained a concession agreement from the Autonomous Port of Kribi (PAK), for the exploitation of these scanners as part of the non-intrusive inspection program at the Port of Kribi. The choice of AS & E is due to its leading position in non-intrusive inspection solutions for containers, with the Sentry Portal and backscatter inspection technology that allows for better product detection. organic (explosives, drugs, etc.), while providing photographic quality images that facilitate the interpretation of data.

SGS

Collect information and connect actors

In November 2017, Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS) acquired offices in the Port of Kribi, to launch its activities on site. The layout of these premises, as such, began four months later, in January 2018. The company then began to hold preparatory meetings on the extension of procedures for the passage of goods at the Port, as well as she has crossed her experiences and expectations with other stakeholders, including Customs and the One Stop Shop. It must be said that the SGS plays a transversal role in the operations of foreign trade in Cameroon through the sale of services and documents issued; which are used by the supervisory administrations as an aid to decision-making, for control needs, and in information. The collection of information through the various affiliates in the world constitutes an important database for external commerce, which enriches the information transmitted to the various partners in the meantime. The 
anticipation in the completion of procedures being the first recommendation of the SGS to reduce costs and delays of passage on goods in the different ports of Cameroon . It must be said that the SGS intervenes in Cameroon since 1994, after the signing of a first agreement with the State of Cameroon. Its main interventions are the Import Verification Program, the Value and Tariff Classification Report, as well as the control of the identification of vehicles imported into Cameroon. In Kribi, the SGS should also intervene on the export of goods through the sectoral program of export monitoring in particular on cocoa, coffee, medicinal plants as well as the export of wood and logs started.


 

Customs

Work on the dematerialization of trade procedures

As part of the implementation of the strategy document for growth and employment (DSCE), the Ministry of Finance, by Decree No. 2013/066 of 28 February 2013 on the organization of the Ministry of Finance and Order No. 00598 / MINFI of 02 November 2016, endowing the city of Kribi with a South II Customs sector. Through the orders N ° 004 and 005 of 09 November 2017, new officials have been appointed with the mission to commission the deep-water port of Kribi. To take charge of this mission, the Director General of Customs has, since 2014, set up a Joint Committee with the following objectives: implementation of all actions contributing to the organization and management of trade procedures outside the Port of Kribi, drafting a customs clearance procedures manual, drafting a technical document interfacing the information systems; drafting of a Customs / KCT Memorandum of Understanding and the holding of several consultations leading up to the holding of a major seminar on the extension of the passage of goods at the Port of Kribi on 14 and 15 February. Customs has developed a manual of customs clearance procedures at the port of Kribi.

CNCC

Offer welcoming and functional centers of life

The role of the National Shippers' Council (CNCC) is to ensure the assistance and interest of the members of this profession, especially the transport sector, in favor of promoting international trade. To this end, it must make all the actions involved in the promotion of the loader's profession, in conjunction with the public services and competent bodies. As part of the commercial launch of the Port of Kribi, the CNCC inaugurated a headquarters site in the locality on 18 June 2015. In the process , three training sessions for shippers were also conducted in 2017, as well as a seminar on Cameroon's foreign trade procedures. The organization intends, in the process, to establish, on Kribi a center of life for road hauliers (in Lendi), the acquisition, installation and management of weighbridges as part of the implementation SOLAS Convention, the opening of an office in Kye-Ossi and the setting up of a facilitation office in Kribi.
